STEAMSHIP NAVIGATION

The evolution of merchant ships is documented by a series of models, authentic masterpieces of Italian craftsmen.
Flanking the magnificent reproduction of the transatlantic liners "Giulio Cesare" and "Leonardo da Vinci", there are scores of paintings (drawings, water-colours, tempera works, prints) representing the first steamships, and many attestations of the transition from sail to steam.
In this Hall you can discover many relics belonged to Captain Tarabotto and a reproduction of the "Rex", a gift from the Mayor of New York after the conquest of the famous 'Blue Ribbon'.
Along with the luxury crockery of the great transatlantic liners, also on display is a specimen of a radio cabin.
